It sits inside the heating and ventilation housing and transfers engine coolant heat to the cabin, so a blocked or leaking core often shows up as poor heater output, a sweet smell or misting windows.

Replacing a tired heater core restores cabin warmth and demisting performance, which matters on cold winter mornings. It is also worth flushing the cooling system at the same time, as old coolant and debris are a common cause of heater core blockages.

Vehicle compatibility

VW Polo (9N) 2001–2012, 1.6

SEAT Ibiza III (6L1) 2002–2009, 1.6 / 1.8 T FR / 2.0

SEAT Cordoba (6L2) 2002–2009, 1.6 / 2.0

Audi A1 (8X1, 8XK) 2010 onward, 1.4 TFSI

Please confirm by OE number or VIN before ordering.

Key features

New replacement heater core for repair or replacement use

Aluminium brazed construction as listed

Referenced to multiple OE and aftermarket cross-reference numbers

Vehicle-specific fitment across several Volkswagen Group small cars

Technical specifications

OE-reference numbers

6RD 819 031, 6R0 819 031, 6Q0 819 031

Cross-reference numbers

350218240000, V15-61-0015, 351 311-111, 76971, KVW 196, 109 979, 7401483, 225M08, BR 240

Construction

Aluminium brazed

Condition

New

Approx. packed dimensions

25 x 18 x 17 cm

Approx. packed weight

15.0 kg (as stated by the listing)

Installation requirements

Heater core replacement usually requires partial dashboard or HVAC housing removal and draining of the cooling system.
