Description

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Pair of rear short-travel lowered gas shock absorbers designed for Ford Falcon AU sedans with rear beam axle (non-IFS). Supplied with new heavy duty bump stops for improved control on lowered suspension setups.

SUITABILITY & NOTES

  • Rear position, lowered short-travel gas shocks
  • Suits selected Ford Falcon, Fairmont, Fairlane & LTD sedans only
  • AU Falcon with rear beam axle only (does NOT suit IFS rear suspension)
  • Does NOT suit station wagons or utes
  • Does NOT suit standard-height springs (lowered springs required)
  • Fairlane models with self-levelling rear suspension must have rear springs replaced to revert to standard type
  • On self-levelling systems, the self-levelling warning light fuse must be disconnected after conversion

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Configuration: Twin-tube gas shock absorber
  • Top mount: Stud / pin
  • Bottom mount: Eye with metal sleeve
  • Open length: 440 mm
  • Closed length: 273 mm
  • Bore size: 32 mm
  • Piston rod: 12 mm, double chromed
  • Gas charge: Low pressure nitrogen with multi-lip NOK seal

INSTALLATION NOTES

  • Professional installation is recommended
  • Ensure vehicle uses rear beam axle and lowered springs before fitment
  • On vehicles previously equipped with self-levelling rear suspension, replace rear springs and disconnect self-levelling warning light fuse
  • Tighten lower mounting bolt to 80 Nm to prevent noise and premature wear
  • Check and align rear suspension geometry after installation
