Installation requirements

Allow the engine to cool completely. Drain the coolant, remove the fan shroud and hoses, and lift the radiator out. Fit the new unit, refill with the correct BMW-approved coolant mix and bleed the system thoroughly, as air pockets are a common cause of overheating on these engines. Replacing ageing hoses, the expansion tank and thermostat at the same time is recommended.
