OVERVIEW
This universal fuel gauge interface module converts and corrects ohm ranges between fuel level senders and fuel gauges. It allows you to retain an existing sender while upgrading or changing fuel gauges, or to use a new sender with an existing gauge, providing accurate and stable fuel level readings.
KEY FEATURES
- Interfaces between fuel senders and fuel gauges with mismatched ohm ranges
- Compatible with most fuel senders and most fuel gauges
- Corrects ohm mismatch and reduces erratic movement from fuel slosh
- Custom calibration points for Empty, Half and Full
- Supports programmable "power on" gauge position at vehicle start
FUNCTION & BENEFITS
Fuel gauges are designed to operate within specific resistance (ohm) ranges. Different vehicle and gauge manufacturers use different ranges, which can cause inaccurate readings when mixing senders and gauges. This module reads the fuel sender signal and outputs a corrected signal matched to your gauge’s ohm range, helping ensure reliable and repeatable fuel level indication.
BASIC INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
- Mount the module in a clean, dry, cool location away from heat sources and moisture.
- Connect wiring according to the wiring guide or diagram provided with the product.
- Ensure the fuel tank sender shares the same ground reference as the module to avoid erratic readings.
CALIBRATION MODES (SUMMARY)
The module provides three main operating modes: Store Mode, Power On Mode, and Run Mode. Refer to the included instructions for exact switch and LED behavior.
- Store Mode: Used to program and store calibration points for Full, Half, Empty, and the desired power-on gauge position using the calibration screw and switches.
- Power On Mode: Used to set how the gauge behaves when the vehicle is started (e.g., start from sender position or from a preset position).
- Run Mode: Normal operating mode in which the module continuously converts the sender signal for the gauge.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- When adjusting the calibration screw, move the gauge from Full to Empty to minimize hysteresis error.
- Some gauges respond slowly; allow sufficient time for the pointer to stabilize after each adjustment.
- Incorrect grounding or wiring may cause unstable or inaccurate readings.
