PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Goss OS0012 oil pressure switch is designed to monitor engine lubrication pressure and provide accurate feedback to the oil warning light or gauge. It supports early detection of low oil pressure to help protect the engine from damage.
FUNCTION & OPERATION
Mounted to the engine block or oil filter housing, the oil pressure switch responds to changes in engine oil pressure and transmits a signal to the dash cluster or engine control unit (ECU). When pressure falls outside the expected range, the associated oil light or gauge will indicate a fault condition.
SYMPTOMS OF A FAULTY OIL PRESSURE SWITCH
A worn or failed oil pressure switch can prevent correct monitoring of engine oil pressure. Common symptoms include:
- Oil pressure warning light illuminated continuously
- Oil pressure warning light inoperative
- Oil pressure warning light flickering intermittently
Any of these symptoms should be investigated promptly to avoid potential engine damage due to undetected low oil pressure.
