Installation requirements

Professional fitting is recommended, as the front strut assembly must be dismantled using a proper spring compressor. Replace both front dampers together so the car handles evenly, and arrange a wheel alignment after installation. Check the strut top bearing, coil spring and dust boot while the assembly is apart.

Worn dampers on a light hatchback commonly show up as excessive bouncing, poor stability in crosswinds, clunks over rough roads and cupped tyre wear. Fresh dampers can also shorten stopping distances on uneven surfaces by keeping the tyres planted.

Fitment checks before ordering

Please match the reference number on your existing shock absorber or provide your VIN, so we can confirm the correct side and specification for your Accent before your order is placed. Note that suspension may differ on vehicles that have been lowered or modified, and on models imported from other overseas markets.
