The NGK BR8EQ-14 is a multiground spark plug designed to deliver reliable ignition performance and extended service life. Its multiple ground electrodes help distribute wear evenly and support cleaner, more consistent firing over time.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Multiground spark plugs use two or more ground electrodes around the centre electrode. During operation, the spark will always follow the path of least resistance and fire to a single ground electrode at a time. As the electrodes wear, the spark path can shift, helping to balance wear and maintain reliable ignition.

The additional ground electrodes can also assist in reducing cold-start fouling by providing more potential paths for the spark across the insulator when deposits begin to form.

APPLICATION GUIDANCE

  • Use as a direct replacement only where the original equipment plug is a multiground type.
  • Do not substitute for a single-ground, platinum or iridium plug unless specifically recommended by the vehicle or engine manufacturer.
  • Always confirm compatibility with your specific engine before installation.

INSTALLATION NOTES

  • Check and set spark plug gap to the specification provided by the engine manufacturer.
  • Install into a clean, undamaged thread in the cylinder head.
  • Tighten to the recommended torque to ensure proper heat transfer and sealing.
