Fits Nissan Patrol GQ with TD42 engine.
Fits Nissan Patrol GU with TD42, TD42T (factory turbo) and TD42TI (factory turbo intercooled) engines.
Fits Nissan Patrol GU with TB45 petrol engine.
The hub is designed to suit the TD42 application and its operating temps, bolt on for both GQ & GU Patrols in standard form directly.
This blade and viscous hub offers a better cooling performance than the standard system, as it is much more aggressive is design, some customers have seen a drop in temperatures from running this compared to the standard viscous hub and fan.
It is a great improvement for increased powered TD42 engines that will run hotter than standard. This can also be used on standard powered vehicles too to decrease temperatures
WARNING: These WILL NOT work with aftermarket radiators that are larger than factory, as this fan will possibly run too close to your radiator, possibly causing it to contact it causing leaks. Only use this with standard size radiators.
Installation Guide:
- First,remove your existing fan from the water pump.
- On the new kit,unbolt the adaptor from the viscous hub,the new fan and viscous will fit past the shroud without having to remove the shroud.Fit the fan inside (past the shroud)and move it out of the way so you can bolt the adaptor plate to the water pump using the factory original studs and nuts.
- Please ensure you remember to put the belt pulley back on before you fit the adaptor, its quiet common to forget this item(then struggle with why the adaptor does not fit properly), especially when replacing our water pump.
- Once the adaptor is fitted and properly tightened to the water pump,then you can fit the fan and viscous hub to the adaptor plate using the supplied nuts. Slide the viscous hub fully onto the adaptor and do up all 4 nuts finger tight, then tighten them properly one at a time. NOTE:We advise you use some Medium(Blue) Loctite on these nuts. This is a bit tight and fiddly, take your time and you will get it on without any issues.
- DO NOT add washers or spacers between the adaptor plate and the viscous hub.
Step by Step:
- Remove Old Fan from engine(leave original studs on water pump)
- Remove alloy adaptor from your new Fan Kit
- Fit the new fan and viscous past the shroud and gently sit it in the shroud out of the way
- Fit the adaptor plate to the water pump using the original studs and nuts
- Slide the new fan over the bolts on the adaptor and do nuts up finger tight
- Tighten all 4 nuts one at a time applying a small amount of Blue Loctite.
