Viscous Fan Hub & Blade Upgrade Kit for Nissan Patrol GQ GU TD42 TB45

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Upgrade viscous coupling hub and fan blade kit designed for Nissan Patrol GQ and GU applications, providing improved engine cooling performance compared with the standard viscous fan assembly.

VEHICLE COMPATIBILITY

• Fits Nissan Patrol GQ with TD42 diesel engine
• Fits Nissan Patrol GU with TD42, TD42T (factory turbo) and TD42TI (factory turbo intercooled) engines
• Fits Nissan Patrol GU with TB45 petrol engine

The hub is designed to suit the TD42 application and its operating temperatures. It is a direct bolt-on for both GQ and GU Patrols in standard form.

IMPORTANT WARNING

This fan kit is designed for use with standard-size factory radiators only.

• Will not work with aftermarket radiators that are larger than factory
• Clearance may be insufficient, and the fan may contact the radiator, causing damage or leaks
• Always check fan-to-radiator clearance after installation

INSTALLATION GUIDE

General installation guidance is provided below. Professional installation is recommended.

• Remove the existing fan from the water pump, leaving the original studs installed
• Unbolt the alloy adaptor from the new viscous hub
• Fit the new fan and viscous hub past the shroud and rest it carefully inside the shroud, out of the way
• Refit the belt pulley to the water pump before installing the adaptor plate
• Bolt the adaptor plate to the water pump using the original studs and nuts
• Slide the fan and viscous hub onto the adaptor plate studs
• Install all four nuts finger tight, then tighten each nut securely one at a time
• Apply a small amount of medium-strength (blue) thread locker to the nuts as advised
• Do not add washers or spacers between the adaptor plate and the viscous hub

After installation, rotate the fan by hand to confirm free movement and adequate clearance to the shroud and radiator.
