This small rubber-metal bearing fits the middle mounting point of the triangular (wishbone) control arm on Volkswagen Group MEB-platform electric vehicles. It is referenced to OE numbers 1EA407183 and 1EA407183D. Worn wishbone bushes are a common source of knocks under braking, steering shimmy and inconsistent tyre wear, and replacing the bush can extend the life of a sound control arm.

Because MEB vehicles are heavy, wishbone bushes work hard, especially on rough rural roads and speed humps.

The control arm must be removed from the vehicle and the bush pressed out and in with suitable tooling. Note the original orientation before removal, as many bushes are directional. Professional fitting is recommended, followed by tightening at ride height and a wheel alignment check.
